Lauren Skabar

Cumberland North

Lauren has dedicated her passion and her career towards quality accessible services for all.

She is a recent graduate of Dalhousie University with a Masters of Information and a graduate certificate in Librarianship. Lauren grew up in Amherst and has spent almost her entire life in Cumberland North. She has worked for the Cumberland Public Libraries organizing and implementing community programming throughout rural communities in Cumberland County. Lauren wants to ensure that educational and social resources are accessible as they are the backbone of rural communities.

Besides politics and libraries, Lauren is most passionate about her dog, Maisie, who she was lucky enough to adopt from the Lillian Allbon Animal Shelter in 2016. Lauren and Maisie both enjoy hiking, swimming, and social justice.

Our movement is powered by people like you.

Love making phone calls and talking to people? Are your thumbs ready to text? Do you have a lawn that would look great with one of our signs? We’d love to hear from you.
